Learning to Drive

It's all very well having a tractor and having loads of mule shit that needs arranging but you've got to be able to work the thing.

The first problem is that it's easy to make tracks across the lawn

then the lack of mirrors requires squirming around

I thought I'd practise by moving the snow on the lane around

In theory it's easy enough, you just keep the tractor moving forward, lower the bucket and scoop up the snow. You can't see the bucket so there's a bucket level indicator, which is a rod which points some way or other when the bucket is level. Knowing which way would help as that would eliminate the need for the camera woman to
advise with hand signals. This picture must have been attempt fifty or so.

OK, moving a bucket of snow down the hill and dumping it may look nothing but a tractor has a lot of levers and knobs and stuff and I am, after all, a white collar worker with a New Beetle.
