ReplyDeleteIt's a Maytag, it came from Sears, so nothing remarkable. When we moved there was only an electric stove so we had a propane tank installed, bought a new gas cooker, and had it rejetted for propane (this is normal in rural areas and almost all cookers can be set up this way). It delivers ferocious heat but isn't very good at simmering.
ReplyDeleteFinding a firm that would install a propane tank just for a cooker was difficult and we now see why. Almost two years here and we're still using the same, $90, tank of propane.
Sears wasn't a great choice of supplier, they delivered only to their local agent who then wanted fifty bucks to bring the stove to the door and complained about his bad back and the trouble of getting it in the truck. By way of contrast, the delivery contractor for Home Depot, supplier of the washing machines and fridge, not only delivered to the room but cleared the walkway to their standards before doing so.
