We haven't identified the following bird yet. Feel free to tell us who he might be.

I think this is a hairy woodpecker. We've also had a visit from his smaller cousin, the downy woodpecker.
Last night we saw a mourning dove for the first time.
This is the shy and quick white-breasted nuthatch.

And the friendly and very cute black capped chickadee.

And finally, the ever-present blue jay. We haven't actually had any problems with the blue jays yet. So far, they have yet to live up to their nasty reputation.
We didn't get a picture of the wild turkeys, or of the various hawks and falcons that we've seen in the surrounding fields. Maybe if we find the right shade of khaki, we can head out with the camera.
Blue Jays are quite nasty. We had a lot of them in the Beaches, and they used to swoop and attack one of my cats while he would just sit in the back yard. Maybe they'll even the playing field for Sid.
ReplyDeleteSid could use a little competition! The little scamp is far too confident.
