Time for the chicks to go to the barn.

And so time to deal with the egg stealer. Last night I set a trap. This morning I shot the occupant and buried it in the manure pile.
I was careful and then I showered, twice. Even so there seems no chance of sex today, there seems little chance of sharing a room today.
Here's a car load of trouble, Monique and two dogs. Charlie's used to convertibles but Brigid tries to climb out at every opportunity.

Beyond that, Charlie sleeps, Brigid gets up and needs taking out at two, then at four, and then as the sun rises. The sun rises at 5:15 so on weekdays it's not worth me going back to bed. On weekends it is, but barely, Monique gets up at 6:30. After a month of this maybe it doesn't matter that I smell of skunk; I'm not good for much.

  1. What can I say. That really did make me laugh out loud.

I hear bathing in tomato soup gets rid of the skunk smell.

    Take care, bye

  2. Things are not better today. Since I was sleeping in a far corner of the basement, Anna got up with Brigid last night. I suspect that inconsequence she was late for work this morning; I awoke to rushing footfalls and a revving engine.

    I still stink.

  3. 't know why it didn't register before this but in high school a friend had a sheep dog mutt named Charlie. We were in a Rochester NY suburb next to a county park.My buddies house was the other side of the park from our house and it seemed every time I walked or drove across the park I would spot Charlie at a picnic either getting his belly rubbed or fed hot dogs, burgers or steak. This was before leash laws were enforced and that darn dog was so friendly he was fed better than any of us.He knew how to put the charm on also.I can only imagine how he made out with the lady dogs roaming all over town.

  4. Maybe it's something in the name, if I tie our Charlie up outside a shop I always come out to find him rolling around getting a belly rub and being fed something.
