Well it would be nice to hear how it came to be missing.In most of the states(not sure about certain ones in the south) it is illegal not to have it covered.
It got bent in the course of the ill advised towing attempt and would no longer close, it didn't seem sensible to have it flapping around so I removed it. I expect that's unlawful here too; pretty much everything is against the law in Ontario.
