These are chickens in a freezer. Not frozen chickens in a freezer, though I did recently find a chicken trapped behind the freezer and frozen stiff, but live chickens in the old freezer we use to store chicken food. They should not be there.

What I suppose happened was that I didn't secure the stall gate very well and donkey opened it and then opened the freezer. He has defined and peculiar tastes in food, he likes grass, tomatoes and brussel sprouts but not asparagus and not beet pulp. It seems he doesn't like chicken food either as, if he did, it would all have been in him and he'd be foundering. By the time I arrived he'd wandered off and there were a great number of chickens in the freezer.

"Time Gentlemen please" is what I call to tell the chickens to go home to bed and they're pretty good about it. I called time and they flapped off before I thought to take a picture of the whole mass of them.
This, btw, is some of our mud. Now snow covered but still oozing.
The chickens would be better with webbed feet.
