Things that seemed to make sense at the time.

There were a lot of leaves. On the lawn, in the gutter/eavestrough, everywhere. I thought I'd clear out the gutters before the weather got too cold but there were also leaves on the roof, leaves which would, in due time, slide down into the gutter. To prevent those leaves becoming a problem, I swept the roof. At this point Anna called mental health professionals to check whether or not intervention would be prudent.

There was quite the pile of leaves, they had to be more shovelled than raked.

Once they were done I changed into a chicken suit and we went, as egg lady and chicken, to a costume party at the gay trailer park. (That ranks with "my daughter is the host of a French language radio show in Alaska" and "the Irish kid what grew up across the road from us in London is now a dairy farmer in Brazil" among the phrases I never expected to use). The event was all one might expect from a Halloween party in a trailer park catering to a LGBT clientele. I was watching mesmerised, the fabulous footwork of a fetishistic cop (probably female) in a mini-skirt and 6" heels, when I was propositioned by a pile of leaves. I had, of course, had quite enough leaves for that day already.

This is on the way to close the chicken coop before we left,

I'm not quite up to putting the front view of "self as chicken" on the interwebby, suffice to say the look frightened Charlie.
