Chick time again.

The house smells faintly of Creolin. That's a disinfectant for poultry equipment and it has a distinctive smell. We've recently discovered that it discolours bathtubs.

This is eighty odd assorted chicks, some of routine breeds, some of "Heritage" breeds. I fetched the latter from Trenton, a round trip of some 450 miles.

We can't tell which are what but that should become clearer as they develop.

  2. It's hardly on the way! I went 410/401.

I'd certainly be interested to come by and see this idyll though not when carrying precious livestock.

  3. Well, yes, I suppose it would add an hour or so to the journey, but we are only 30 Canadian minutes from the 401. Was it the place at Frankford? There's also a place near Trenton and here that has Lac Lacroix ponies. My friend the horse lady and I are planning a visit there sometime.

Of course you and Anna would be most welcome anytime, anytime the animals allow you to escape

  4. It was a place called Performance Poultry, south to Carrying Place and then east a bit. Not a highly organized place. There's an alternative supplier in upstate NY, we thought there might be a hassle with the border and so went with the Canadian but aren't likely to do again.
