Now this is a sad thing.

Charlie on the porch, tied up.

This is a result of our trip to the barn this morning. Monique has no go at all this weekend. She's just limp so I had to drag her like a sack of potatoes.

Hunter is back from the pound and was on a rope just beyond the fence. While I was propping Monique up Charlie went through the fence to visit Hunter. Not good. I was right behind him but still I had to face a large and hostile man who, in a flash, had a phone in his hand. I suppose if we're going to force the neighbours to constrain their dangerous dog we'll have to constrain our tame one. Bugger.

  1. It's a shit how these things get twisted. Hunter likes killing chickens, Hunter isnt supervised, so now Hunter's owner is going to take his revenge on Charlie. Bloody hell it's a good job you didn't shot Hunter.

  2. I think it might have been better to have shot Hunter the very first time. Shoot, shovel, shut up. Dog lost, sadness all round, problem gone.

  3. I was thinking he's playing tit for tat, so if you had shot his dog he may well shoot yours.

I hope not, Charlie is an excellent dog.

  4. Big buggeration!
Calm heads and a little time for tempers and the dust to settle is called for.

  5. Yes, it would have been much better if we had SSS the first time around, as the Homesteading Today people suggest. We were wrongly compasionate and thought that death of chickens meant something to people in the country. Sadly, these are not country people we are dealing with.
