A playground set up for the amusement of the neurologically non-typical really rounds out the Upper Appalachia feeling to the day. A giant ball, a paddling pool, and a stereo, with the potential for a fire in the outdoor fireplace. That's about as much fun as anyone could have on a leach field.
And this is about as much fun as anyone could have in a kitchen. You have to wonder what else those good ole boys were smoking when they came up with the idea to smoke a cabbage. On the other hand, I know perfectly well that one can come up with the idea to smoke an onion with only the stimulus of a few beers and good company, so...
This, of course, must be carefully observed by a girl in a rocking chair. Someone has to keep watch and make sure I'm doing it all right.
Years ago, we went to a cottage with some friends on a trip that has gone down in infamy as the weekend the friend's daughter learned to hate nature. Monique has always been good with it.
In addition to two wet and smelly dogs, this place had a stove, freezer, refrigerator, and couch on the porch. And as the neighbour's son says, you're not really a Melancthonite until you have appliances on your porch. Next reno project: The Outdoor Kitchen.
